Day 4 START

Taketomi Island National Important Preservation District for Groups of Traditional Buildings

A village on Taketomi Island where rows of red-tiled houses line white sand paths. Located near the center of the island, it still preserves a distinctly Okinawan townscape, with traditional Ryukyuan houses topped with red-tiled roofs, shisa lion statues perched above, and coral stone walls. Take your time and enjoy the island’s traditional scenery at your own pace.

Kondoi Beach

A beach that perfectly encapsulates Taketomi Island, known for its beautiful white sands and cobalt-blue waters. The beach boasts a shallow shoreline and gentle waves, and a Phantom Beach (sandbar) is revealed at low tide, which you can walk across to. It is also renowned for its spectacular sunsets. Even a simple stroll along its sands is a deeply soothing experience.

Nishisanbashi Pier

A white pier stretching straight out into the blue sea. As it extends out toward the west, it is also well-known as a perfect place to watch the sunset. Though a popular tourist attraction, its considerable length of 105 meters in total allows you to stroll slowly or sit and take in the magnificent scenery at your leisure.

Hoshinoya Taketomi Island
