Itsukushima Shrine

Itsukushima Shrine was established in the year of Empress Suiko's accession to the throne (593 AD). The enshrined deities are Ichikishimahime-no-mikoto, Tagorihime-no-mikoto, and Tagitsuhime-no-mikoto. The current shrine building was renovated by Taira no Kiyomori.
