  2. Emperor Nintoku's Mausoleum, Shuzuka Tomb, and Magodayuyama Tomb

    Take a stroll around the Nintoku Emperor Tomb and its subsidiary tombs, the Shuzuka Tomb and the Magodayuyama Tomb. Surrounded by triple moats and deep forest, the Nintoku Emperor Tomb is a spectacular sight even when viewed from the ground.

  3. Sakai City Museum

    Sakai City Museum displays artifacts from the Kofun period and matchlock guns, allowing visitors to experience Sakai's long history. You can also enjoy the Mozu Kofun Group Theater, which makes full use of CG, free of charge.

    Fill up on food at a restaurant famous for its "silver rice." You might even meet the "rice-cooking hermit."

  5. Nanshuji Temple

    This temple has deep ties to famous people from the Warring States period, such as Miyoshi Nagayoshi, Sen no Rikyu, Furuta Oribe, and Takuan Osho. The "Eight-Direction Dragon" painted on the ceiling inside the Buddhist hall is impressive. *Volunteer guides are always on hand and photography is prohibited.

  6. Canister

    Kanbukuro is a long-established Japanese confectionery shop that is said to have been named by Toyotomi Hideyoshi. Kurumi mochi, wrapped in bright green bean paste, was created during the time when trade with the Portuguese flourished.

  7. Sakai Risho no Mori (tea ceremony experience (standing tea ceremony))

    The museum conveys the history and culture of Sakai through Sen no Rikyu, who popularized the tea ceremony, and Yosano Akiko, who pioneered modern literature. You can also experience the tea ceremony.
