Sennichimae Doguyasuji Shopping Street

A 3-minute walk from Namba Station. This shopping street stretches 150 meters and is lined with stores specializing in food samples, lanterns, decorative signs, tableware, cooking and kitchen utensils, and more. The area is always crowded with tourists from home and abroad. It originally started in 1882 when antique and general merchants opened stores as an approach from Hozenji Temple to Odaishi-san and Imamiya Ebisu Shrine in Shitennoji. In 1970 (Showa 45), an arcade was built and the shopping street developed into what it is today. Osaka is known as the "kitchen of the nation," and even today it is a city where chefs and chefs compete for the hearts and skills of the culinary world. This shopping arcade is home to stores that offer utensils suitable for use by these professionals. In particular, the selection of cooking utensils for Osaka's flour-based food such as takoyaki and okonomiyaki is the best in Japan.
