Kizu Market

Kizu Market boasts a history of over 300 years. Its roots are said to date back to a street vendor market where local farmers would gather and sell their produce. Located near Daikokucho Station, one stop south of Namba, it houses approximately 150 wholesalers, including seafood and produce vendors, and many chefs from restaurants in the bustling Minami district frequent the market to purchase supplies. A morning market is open to the public on the second and last Saturdays of each month from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM. There are plenty of tastings, auction experiences, and raffles. In the summer, you can even enjoy a barbecue using ingredients purchased at the market in the adjacent venue. During Osaka's iconic Ebisu Festival, Kizu Market offers a traditional offering of sea bream to Imamiya Ebisu Shrine in accordance with ancient customs, praying for a good catch and prosperous business. This traditional event dates back to the Edo period. For inquiries, please contact the Osaka Kizu Wholesale Market Association (Tel: 06-6631-1131).
