Nakaza Kuidaore ("Eat-'till-you-drop") Building
Though the famous Osaka mascot Kuidaore Taro (“Jack Eat-yourself-broke”) was gone from Dotonbori for a spell, he’s returned back home and his old haunts are now open as a hot new Minami dining destination.
Takoyaki battered octopus balls, savory okonomiyaki pancakes, deep-fried kushikatsu skewers—as you wander around these recently reopened premises, you’ll see this really is the place to eat yourself broke, Osaka-style. The mechanical drummer Kuidaore Taro himself welcomes you into the building, renovated with innovative styling to create a new Dotonbori destination that’s rapidly taken the spotlight.
