Namba Grand Kagetsu
Where the best comedies of Japan come to gather
Starting with the featured veteran comedians of this theater to the Manzai and Rakugo stand-up of popular up-and-coming comedians from TV as well as their familiar Yoshimoto staple theater shows, the NAMBA GRAND KAGEZ offers performances and laughs from morning to sundown, 365 days throughout the year.
The place will continue to be the epicenter of Yoshimoto Kogyo comedy and deliver laughs throughout.
It holds up to 858 seats, the largest for a comedy theater in Japan, with a retro-style interior to recreate the “good old days of Japan.” Popular with Japanese people, but also with our friends from overseas.
In 2016, the annual number of visitors surpassed a million, making it literally the peak and “Comedy Hall of Fame” for men and women, old and young alike. From familiar veterans to up-and-comers, visitors can enjoy live performances of Yoshimoto comedians, in addition to new works every week of their staple “Yoshimoto Theater Comedy.” There are 3 or more live performances everyday, including special events for “everyone” to enjoy at “any time.” As a landmark of Osaka, there are various attractions inside aside from theater to enjoy Osaka. It includes plenty of shops and restaurants to purchase and taste the local staples of Osaka such as the Yoshimoto Kogyo and Tully’s Coffee “Hana-Noren Tully’s Coffee” collaboration, the “Yoshi-Tako” which is a Takoyaki store operated by a Yoshimoto comedian, and the “Yoshimoto Entertainment Shop” offering official merchandise, etc. The theater is packed full of not only laughs, but “all the good stuff of Osaka” to eat and experience.
