Nose myoken-san (official name: Murozan Shinnyoji Temple Outer Buddhist Temple Nose myoken-san)

Myoken Shrine is a sacred site with a history of 1,200 years, said to have been founded by Gyoki. It enshrines Myoken Daibosatsu, the god of the North Star who governs good fortune and the performing arts. Fate changes with the movement of the stars. Praying to the North Star, which is at the center of these movements, will open up your destiny.
No mention of Nose, the "top of Osaka," can't be complete without mentioning Mount Myoken. At its 660-meter summit, the Nichiren Buddhist temple "Nose myoken-san" stands. It's said to have been founded by Gyoki, and later, Minamoto no Mitsunaka, the ancestor of the Genji clan, enshrined Myoken Bodhisattva. During the Edo period, the temple gained the nickname "Nose's Myoken-san," known for its miraculous powers. Visitors from across the country flocked to the temple, and it even became the subject of rakugo (traditional Japanese comic storytelling). Myoken-sama, the North Star god who foresees destinies, is said to bring good fortune. His name, meaning "wonderful appearance," also makes him a deeply revered deity of the performing arts. The waters of the Jousui-do Hall, donated by the legendary kabuki actor Nakamura Utaemon IV, are said to bring beauty to those who rinse their hands with its waters. The area is rich in nature, offering beautiful views throughout the seasons, including cherry blossoms, hydrangeas, autumn leaves, and snowscapes. On clear days, you can enjoy panoramic views of Osaka Bay.
