OCAT (Osaka City Air Terminal)

The largest bus terminal in western Japan, directly connected to the Namba Station of JR Line. Adjoining are offices, restaurants, shopping facilities, plus a full-scale rooftop garden.

OCAT (Osaka City Air Terminal) is the largest bus terminal in western Japan, directly connected to the Namba Station of JR Line with adjoining offices, restaurants and shopping facilities. From the 2nd floor of the bus terminal, there are buses arriving from and departing to various locations; OCAT shuttle buses to Kansai International Airport, limousine buses to Osaka International Airport and Kobe Airport, and intercity express busses connecting Namba to cities nationwide, from Sendai in the north to Kagoshima in the south. There is a full-scale rooftop garden with perennial herbs such as lavender and rosemary as well as 10,000 specimens of approximately 200 species of trees, providing an urban oasis for citizens to relax in. Currently, the area around OCAT is being developed, including OCAT Walk that connects directly from the existing underground shopping center, as well as major roads and squares within the area. When completed, the area should become even more convenient and accessible.
