Oguraya/Ogura Konbu
Established over 150 years ago, Oguraya is well known as being Osaka's oldest and most prestigious kombu merchant.
Since its establishment in 1848, Oguraya has dealt exclusively in kombu, building its brand and tradition. The store is packed with kombu products that use top-quality kombu from Hokkaido, many of which were awarded Osaka Governor and/or Minister of Agriculture Awards. Highly recommended is the exquisite "Ougiokina," an oboro-kombu hand-shaved by Mr. Mita, an expert of hand-shaved oboro-kombu making and recipient of many awards.
