Takabayashi Family Residence

This is one of the oldest private houses in Osaka Prefecture. Its current appearance dates back over 200 years, and was completed during the Kansei era.
The mansion is surrounded by a white earthen wall, and the thatched-roof main building houses a storehouse, an immovable hall, and an Inari shrine, and the entire site is a well-preserved example of the layout of a village headman's residence in the Kinki region during the Edo period. The pillars and beams of the building remain from the Tensho era in the late 1500s, but the building was remodeled and renovated to include a tatami room and entrance hall, and is said to have taken on its current appearance around the end of the 18th century.
