Shirasagi Park Iris Garden

Sakai City's flower, the Japanese iris, beautifully colors the cloudy sky during the rainy season

Shirasagi Park, located in Higashi Ward, Sakai City, has a site area of approximately 90,000 square meters.
The vast park includes a sports field, a baseball field, and a playground, and is used by a wide range of people, from children to the elderly, as a place for sports and recreation.
In 1989, to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Sakai City's incorporation, the iris was selected as the city's flower by public vote, and an iris garden was established within the park.
It has now become widely known as a famous flower spot.
Every year from late May to early June, irises bloom, delighting the eyes of visitors.
