Tajiri Ocean Community Center
A center devoted to fishery and marine leisure, where visitors can take part in the exciting hands-on fishing experience with professional fishermen and buy fresh catch at the morning market.
The community center for fishery and marine leisure is located in Tajiri Town, Sennangun, across the sea from Kansai International Airport and a 10-minute walk from Yoshiminosato Station on the Nankai Main Line. The center has a yacht club, a restaurant and an attractive wooden deck that brings into full view the ocean, the sky and the yachts moored in the marina. Fresh catch, vegetables, daily necessities are on offer at the morning market held at the fishing port every Sunday from 7:00 AM till noon. Visitors can take part in the hands-on gillnetting and pot fishing experience with the local fishermen, who will prepare the fresh catch so that it is ready for eating at the barbecue corner. Oyster shacks appear during the winter for visitors to enjoy seafood throughout the year. At Umizuri Port Tajiri beginners and children too can enjoy saltwater pond fishing for species such as red sea bream and yellow jack. The center also hosts fishing competitions and other events.
