Sandanbeki Cliff / Sandanbeki Cave (Walking and Sightseeing)
The Sandanbeki is a cliff at an about 60 meters of height stretching for about 2 km north and south of Shirahama Town.
Fishermen used it as a midan or a watch post to monitor passing ships and migrating fish. The Sandanbeki Cave is surrounded by a legend, saying this was the place where the Kumano sea army, famous during the Genpei War, hid their ships.
A scenic spot filled with the notion of beauty amidst the power and roughness of nature.

Senjojiki Bedrock (Walking and Sightseeing)
Senjojiki in Shirahama Town received its name from the width and spaciousness of the bedrock, such, that could be covered with a thousand tatami mats.
The bedrock expands out to the Pacific Ocean, and features multi-layered like stairs, allowing visitors to walk all the way to the tip of the shore. The sun setting on the horizon is not to be missed as its exquisiteness earned it the title of one of the 100 Best Sunsets/Sunrises in Wakayama.
