Lake Tazawa is the deepest lake in Japan. With its high clarity, the lake surface is striking as it shifts in color with the season and time of day, showing deep bluish-purple tones, jade green, and even crimson hues. There are also plenty of photo spots, including the lake’s icon, the Statue of Tatsuko, and a vivid red torii gate.

Nyuto Onsen-kyo
