The Izumiden Reisen, a spring that emerged in 869 (the 11th year of the Jogan era) and saved the villagers who were suffering from a drying up of water, was the deciding factor in the founding of Asahi Breweries Ltd. in 1889 (the 22nd year of the Meiji era), and is located to the left of the main hall.
In 1970, the ground-breaking ceremony and pillar-raising ceremony for the construction of the site for the Japan World Exposition, which was held under the theme of "Progress and Harmony for Mankind," were officiated by the chief priest of this shrine, and the original pillar (made of 50-year-old Kiso cedar) used in the ceremony was dedicated, offering prayers for the success of the construction. It is enshrined on the right side of the main hall so that the "spirit of scientific progress and respect for humanity" that the Japan World Exposition advocated will be passed down forever.
