Tsutenkaku Hondori Merchants' Association
This shopping street stretches for about 200 meters from Exit 3 of Ebisucho Station on Osaka Metro Sakaisuji Line and Tsutenkaku Tower. The atomosphere of Osaka in its good old days still remains here and there
At the top of the Exit 3 stairs of Ebisucho Station on Osaka Metro Sakaisuji Line, you will be greeted by the Tsutenkaku Tower soaring to the sky. And the 200-meter road between the exit and the tower is Tsutenkaku Hondori Shopping Street, the main street to Tsutenkaku Tower. The shopping street, originally called "Ebisu-dori," gained popularity and prosperity from the time when the Tower was established (1912). And, since it was renamed as "Tsutenkaku Hon-dori" on the occation of Tower reconstruction (1956), it has been enjoying its popularity as a commercial avenue with many different shops, including restaurants characteristic to the gourmet city Osaka and shops selling various products, and the street is always bustling with men and women of all ages. Another appeal of the street is the view of Tsutenkaku Tower, which is number one in the Shin-sekai district, not to mention in the evening. Enjoy the fun atomsphere of Tsutenkaku Hon-dori, created by its mixed composition of traditional established shops and newcomers, with a remaining touch of Osaka in its good old days.
