Mount Pompon

When you step on the summit, you hear a "ponpon" sound? Enjoy the rural scenery and the atmosphere of the mountain temple.
King.
Officially called Mt. Kamose, it's said to have been given this fun name due to the "ponpon" sound it makes when you stomp your feet on the summit. Climb to the summit, 678.8 meters above sea level, and test it out for yourself. Access is easy; the most popular route is to take a bus from Takatsuki City and begin the hike from the Haratateishi or Kamimineyamaguchi bus stops. Visit Mt. Kamimine and Honzan-ji Temple, founded by En no Gyoja, and then follow the Tokai Nature Trail to the summit. Located close to the Kyoto border, the summit offers views of the Kyoto and Hokusetsu mountains. Continue walking for another 15 minutes until you reach a fork in the road, heading toward Zenpo-ji Temple. From Zenpo-ji Temple, you can enjoy the tranquil countryside as you walk to the final stop, the Oshio bus stop. The entire trail is approximately 12 km long.
