Shionoyu Hot Springs

Refresh yourself in a historic hot spring with over 1,000 years of history, surrounded by the blessings of the mountains.

More than 1,000 years ago, when Minamoto no Mitsunaka's younger brother, Mitsumasa, an ancestor of the Genji clan, was suffering from a serious illness, he received a message from Yakushi Nyorai (Medicine Buddha), and it is said that he recuperated in this hot spring and made a full recovery. The sukiya-style building has a tranquil atmosphere, befitting a hot spring inn. The hot spring here is characterized by a free-flowing bath with carbonated cold mineral water. Although it is a little cold, alternating with heated water will help relieve fatigue. It is said to be good for neuralgia, joint pain, chronic digestive disorders, sensitivity to cold, and high blood pressure. The clear carbonated spring that gushes out in the courtyard is rich in minerals and is effective against diabetes and liver disease. The inn also offers seasonal delicacies, such as wild vegetables in spring, sweetfish in summer, matsutake mushrooms in autumn, and oyster hotpot in winter.
